What is Ovedere?
Maps for
the places
you love.
In one sentence
A place-planning app for the way you actually explore a city. Save restaurants, bars, cafes, parks — anything worth knowing — to a personal map you can shape, share, and come back to.
A play on "over there" — that southern way of pointing to where you're headed next.
What it
actually does.
Six things · Beyond a saved list
Google Maps gives you one big bucket of "saved" places. Ovedere gives you a system — multiple maps, real notes, a planner that turns your list into a day, and links that let other people see your taste without making an account.
Different lists, different lives.
Keep date night, weekend visitors, and your summer-in-ATL list separate. Switch with a tap.
A head start in every city.
Handpicked suggestions for your home city to seed any new map you start.
What you actually thought.
Every place gets your own private notes. They auto-save as you type.
A list that curates itself.
Mark what you've been to. Filter to "want to go" and your next outing plans itself.
A real day, planned.
Drag your spots into a multi-stop route. Auto-cascading start times, walking vs. driving estimates, one-tap handoff to Google Maps.
Your tour, their visit.
When someone asks for your restaurant picks, send a link. They get your handpicked tour — no signup, no app install.
Made for
The list you'd text to a friend, the route you'd plan for a Saturday, the city you've lived in forever, and the one you're visiting next week.

What's worth
testing.
Nine sections · No pressure
No pressure to hit every box — the more friction you flush out, the better launch will be. Work through what you can, and drop me anything weird, ugly, or surprising along the way.
Onboarding
01- Sign up with email or with Google
- Complete your profile using the banner at the top
- Reach the main map
Saving places
02- Search for a restaurant by name and save it
- Long-press an empty spot on the map to drop a custom pin
- Add a place to your Top 10
- Edit a place's name, category, or address
- Add a private note (should auto-save as you type)
- "Move pin" to a more accurate spot
- Remove a place from your map
- Mark a few places as visited
- Try saving a place already on your map (should dedupe gracefully)
Categories & filters
03- Toggle category filters (Restaurants, Bars, Activities, etc.)
- Toggle between All, Want to go, and Visited — confirm they filter correctly
Multi-map
04- Add a new map
- Create a second map for another city or vibe
- Rename a map
- Switch maps and confirm pins differ
- Delete a map (read the warning)
Sharing
05- Generate a share link for one of your maps
- Open the link in an incognito window (or send to a friend)
- As a viewer, browse pins, notes, categories
- Confirm viewers can't edit (no "Mark visited", no note editing)
- Revoke link and confirm it breaks
Day planner
06- Add 3+ stops from your saved places
- Set a start time for the day
- Reorder stops by drag
- Add a stop with no address (long-press pin) — warning chip should appear
- "Start route" hands off to Google Maps with all stops
- "View route on map" (mobile) collapses the planner with the polyline still drawn
- Try with just 1 stop — Start route should be disabled
Theme & map style
07- Toggle light/dark — basemap palette should actually change
- Pins, polylines, panels readable in both
- Toggle satellite vs. roadmap
Mobile
08- Confirm search bar works
- Bottom sheet expand/collapse feels smooth
- Keyboard doesn't cover search results or "Add" buttons
- "Back to map" takes user back to their map
- Add a new map on mobile
Profile & settings
09- Visit the profile page and make some changes
- Change display name — should propagate to shared maps
- Change avatar
- Change home city
- Theme preference persists after reload
- Sign out and sign back in
Reporting anything
Use "Send feedback" in the menu.
Anything you spot — small or big — drop it in there. Bugs, broken layouts, copy that doesn't read right, ideas you wish were in the app. All welcome.
Helpful to include
- What you were trying to do
- A screenshot or screen recording
- Browser + device (e.g. "iPhone 14 Pro, Safari" or "MacBook, Chrome")
- Approximate time — helps locate it in logs
Drop me anything weird, ugly, or surprising — appreciate you being here early.
