
Buttermilk Fried Chicken
Equipment
- 1 Frying Pan
Ingredients
- 2 Cups All Purpose Flour
- ¼ Cup Corn Starch
- 2 Packets Sazon
- Buttermilk
- Garlic Powder
- Onion Powder
- Adobo
- Hot Sauce
- Pickle Juice
Instructions
Chicken
- Clean chicken
- To a large mixing bowl, add buttermilk, all purpose seasoning, sazon, hot sauce, chicken bouillon, garlic powder, onion powder and pickle juice. Mix well.
- Place cleaned chicken in buttermilk mixture and brine overnight.
Flour Mixture
- To a mixing bowl, add the following: - 2 Cups of flour- 1 pack of Sazon- All purpose seasonng- Adobo seasoning - Garlic powder- Onion powder
- Taste the mixture and add more seasoning to your liking
Frying Your Chicken
- Lift chicken from brine mixture ( 1 - 2 pieces)- Let excess mixture drip off
- Dip chicken into seasoned flour mixture to coat thoroughly. Fine to press the flour into the chicken
- Repeat this process to get additional coating of flour
- Let chicken sit for 15 - 20 minutes to allow batter to adhere to chicken
- Preheat cooking oil to around 350º - 375º
- Gently add chicken to oil using tongs and fry for 10 - 12 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 165º
- Add flaky salt if you desire
